Leicester City Centre Beat Team – Weekly Roundup
Another busy week for the Leicester City Centre policing team, with plenty of visibility, engagement, and problem‑solving across the beat. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
PC Katie – Reassurance Patrols at Burgess House PC Katie has been patrolling Burgess House, offering reassurance to residents following reports of antisocial behaviour. She’s been speaking with those affected, gathering information, and working to restore confidence in the area.
PC Dean – Youth Engagement & ASB Response You may recognise PC Dean from his recent video alongside Inspector Ludlam . As our Youth Engagement SPOC, he’s been addressing antisocial behaviour involving young people at city centre fast‑food restaurants. He’s maintaining close relationships with businesses, supporting staff, and tackling issues early to keep these busy locations safe and welcoming .
PCSOs Tim & Hannah – Highcross Engagement Event PCSOs Tim and Hannah held a community engagement event at John Lewis in Highcross . They spoke with shoppers about safety, answered questions, and provided crime‑prevention advice — great visibility and great engagement .
PCSO Donna – Student Safety Patrols PCSO Donna has been out on Bath Lane, visiting student accommodation blocks and engaging with residents. She’s been offering safety advice, listening to concerns, and strengthening links with the student community .
PCSO Jane – Reducing Cycle Theft Tackling cycle theft remains one of the beat’s top priorities. PCSO Jane has been running bike‑registration events at Tunnel Square, helping riders secure their bicycles and ensuring property details are recorded . Her strong high‑visibility presence has been reassuring to both cyclists and local businesses.
PC Ellis – Safeguarding Vulnerable Individuals PC Ellis has been carrying out significant safeguarding work with vulnerable individuals across the city centre. This includes welfare checks, referral work, and multi‑agency collaboration to ensure people receive the support they need |
